Not Much of a Writer, But Definitely a Storyteller
Not Much of a Writer, But Definitely a Storyteller
I’ll be honest: I’m not much of a writer. Writing a blog always feels a bit like trying to apply eyeliner with my left hand. I can do it, but it doesn’t happen effortlessly. Still, this felt like the perfect way to share a little more about who I am, what I do, and why I love my work as a bridal make-up artist & hairstylist so much.
Even though I’ve worked in the fashion and entertainment industry for over 25 years, I noticed in recent years that I was being asked more and more to do bridal work. And every single time, I felt the same thing: this is where my heart is. The personal connection, the emotions, the joy, and the creativity. Designing something that truly fits someone, whether it’s very natural or full glam.
“Say yes to the face” my favourite moment
My favourite part? The trial session.
That’s when I really get to know someone. How she moves, talks, laughs. I listen, ask questions, feel her energy, and look at her style and personality. And then I start creating. That small, quiet moment when she looks in the mirror and I can tell she’s thinking: yes, this is me, just at my most beautiful… that’s my own “say yes to the face” moment. I love it!
And then there’s the wedding day itself. The moment when all the pieces come together: the dress the make-up,, the hairstyle, the emotion, the excitement, the love. It’s so special to stand next to someone at exactly that moment, as her make-up artist and hairstylist.
I’ve already had the joy of working in Spain, Italy, France, and even Monaco. The ambiance, the light, the food, the weather… it all adds to that luxurious destination wedding vibe that I absolutely adore. (Who wouldn’t?)
Both abroad and in the Netherlands, I get to experience truly beautiful celebrations: multi-day weddings in castles or country estates where I might create four different looks. From the welcome party on Friday, to the look for the ceremony and the party make-up for Saturday night, and then a fresh, natural look for the Sunday brunch. I love being part of the entire weekend.
That a bride feels completely at ease.
Warmth, calm, an open atmosphere, but also professionalism and experience. That’s what I bring with me. I often see myself as a kind of personal cheerleader, someone who stays relaxed and steady so you can feel (and look) like the very best version of yourself. Luxury where it fits, simplicity where it’s needed, but always personal.

Daar leer ik iemand kennen, zie ik hoe ze beweegt, praat, lacht. Ik luister, stel vragen, kijk naar energie, stijl en persoonlijkheid en dan ga ik aan de slag. Dat kleine, stille moment waarop ze in de spiegel kijkt en ik zie dat ze denkt: yes, this is me, just at my most beautiful… that’s my own “say yes to the face” moment. I love it!
And then there’s the wedding day itself. The moment when all the pieces come together: the dress the make-up,, the hairstyle,, emotie, spanning, liefde.
